His career has included commanding roles as Commissioner of Police in Faridabad and Ambala-Panchkula, Inspector General for Hisar and South Range, and Additional DGP for Cyber Crime and SCRB. His strategic expertise also shaped state governance during his tenure as Principal Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs. At the national level, he contributed significantly during his central deputation as Deputy Director with the Enforcement Directorate (Ministry of Finance) between 2003 and 2007. His early career involved impactful roles as Superintendent of Police in Kaithal, Panipat, Hisar, and Jind.
Initiatives
One of Singh’s most transformative legacies is the SPAT Haryana sports scheme (Sports and Physical Aptitude Test). Under this initiative, more than 15 lakh children participated annually, with 5,000 scholarships granted every year. As Haryana Narcotics Control Bureau head, he has implemented a dual strategy — strong enforcement against drug networks, combined with preventive outreach for youth.
